I (althea arnold) am a somatic process work practitioner, movement-lover, and holistic nutritionist. My life has been guided by depth - a desire to know myself fully and express who I am in a way that feels true. Curiosity, sensitivity, and a hunger for authentic self-expression have shaped a path of seeking deeper communion with the mystery of life and how it moves through me.

For much of my life, I felt shaky in my foundational trust in myself. This showed up as people-pleasing, self-doubt, shyness, inner criticism, anxiety, and feeling blown around by the wind rather than guided by my own inner desires. Working through my own struggles with anxiety, depression, and disordered eating became a path into depth psychology and process work, reorienting me towards my core self and a deeper sense of self-trust.

In 2025, I completed a process work facilitator training taught by David Bedrick, J.D., Dipl. PW. This work is descended from Jungian psychology and moves through the body/soma and the imaginal/dreaming realm - tracking gestures, sensations, and impulses as doorways into what the analytical mind can't easily reach, and engaging directly with the inner voices that shame and diminish. I've seen how shame dims one's light and stifles expression, and also the profound reclamation that happens when people wake up what shame has tried to silence.

Practices like 5Rhythms, the Tamalpa Life/Art Process, and Contact Improvisation have also been formative for me - each one a distinct way of developing emotional range, sensory intelligence, creative aliveness, and the capacity to be intimately present and co-create with another person. In addition to being somatic awareness technologies, they're also methods of inquiry, and they've deeply informed how I show up as a facilitator. Where there is interest, I may invite movement into our work as another way the body's knowing can be witnessed and brought to form.

In sessions, I aim to serve not as an external authority but as a curious companion who honors each person’s unique potential. My approach supports cultivating inner wisdom, helping individuals become their own primary advocates, and creating a loving, unshaming space for exploration and transformation.

If this feels like a place you’d like to explore, I’m grateful you’re here and would be honored to support your process.
